Please note The Perfect Daycare’s drop off & pick up policy.
Let us know if you will be late or absent. This way we can properly schedule activities.
Please do not pick-up during nap time (1:00 pm – 3:15 pm) unless previously arranged.
To ensure the safety of the children (and staff) at The Perfect Daycare, only the parents or individuals designated by the parents may pick up a child. You must notify The Perfect Daycare in advance if someone other than the parent or authorized persons will be picking up. Your child will NEVER be released into the custody of anyone without prior authorization from you.
Drop off and pick up times can be a busy time for our neighborhood. Please park on the street, facing the correct direction and do not block any driveways. We do not allow any parking in our driveway or blocking our driveway. Following these rules will lead to an easier pick up and drop off time for everyone and keep our neighbors happy.
If your child will not be attending daycare due to illness or other reasons , please let us know as soon as possible.
.
At some point, your little one will become sick and I may need to contact you to discuss which measures to take depending on what symptoms your child exhibits. If your child exhibits any symptom listed below they will NOT be permitted to attend childcare until 24 hours after medical treatment has begun OR they are no longer contagious. * Fever of 100 degrees or more * Severe diarrhea (cannot be contained by toilet or diaper) * Unexplained rash or skin lesion that blisters * Vomiting *Pinkeye *Ear Infections *Chicken Pox For further instruction see the attached flyer “Keep Me Home If”. Colds and runny noses are common and unavoidable. However, a runny nose accompanied by a cough or fever is an indication your child should stay home. If your child becomes ill at childcare, parents will be notified as per your contract and must be picked up. Your child will be isolated until you arrive.
It is very important that parents always let me know at drop off if their child has been given ANY medication before arriving at childcare. These medications include Tylenol, Cough/Cold medicines, Benadryl, antibiotics, or prescription medication of any kind.
We believe that disciplining a child is achieved through patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. We also try to teach the children in our care manners, kindness and to be respectful of others. One of the ways in which we do this is by the example we as providers set. We understand that our actions and reactions speak much louder than our words. The children are explained the rules of the daycare frequently, so they know what’s expected of them. Once a child is old enough to understand the rules and disobeys them by exhibiting inappropriate behavior (hitting, aggression, etc.), hurts others, or property, the following developmentally appropriate guidance techniques will be used. These techniques are as follows:
Quiet Time: The child is separated from the group for an age appropriate amount of time. This technique is only used when a child repeatedly will not follow our directions or listen to our words, is exhibiting temper tantrum type behavior, or hurting one’s self, others or equipment. When the child shows that he or she is ready to demonstrate acceptable behavior, they are encouraged to join the rest of the group to try again. Our goal is to guide them in self-regulation.
TIME-OUTS: The child is separated from the group for an age appropriate amount of time (one minute per one year of age).
Note: Sometimes if both a parent and a provider are both in the same area (examples would be during drop-off and pick-up times) a child may forget the rules or test the boundaries. Please help show your child that you respect us, the rules of our house, and our property by reminding them that the rules still apply in your presence. We will also remind them of the rules and correct them if needed.
